Behind the wheel of the DS 8: the brand's most serious offering in years
Very distinctive design
The first thing you notice is its sophisticated design. In terms of proportions, it's very close to the Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback. It's a large SUV--about 190 inches long--fairly tall (you sit as high as in the DS 7), and its coupe-style rear gives it real presence in person. The front end can be backlit, and there's an optional two-tone finish with a black section that runs across the hood. Those touches may not be to everyone's taste, but they definitely make it stand out. Aerodynamics have also been a clear priority: with a drag coefficient of just 0.24, it gains roughly 37 extra miles of range
