The 10 most beautiful villages in Spain, worthy of an Oscar
Alfoz de Lloredo (Cantabria)
Situated between Comillas and Santillana del Mar, this municipality--comprising seven coastal and inland villages--is one of Cantabria's most sought-after summer destinations. Much of its appeal lies in stunning landscapes like the El Bolao cliffs, an exceptional spot for gazing out at the Cantabrian Sea. Daniel Sánchez Arévalo chose this location to shoot one of the most heartwarming scenes in *Diecisiete* (2019). Years earlier, Cantabrian filmmaker Mario Camus also filmed *El color de las nubes* (1997) in the area. Even Hugh Hudson, director of the iconic *Chariots of Fire*, visited these parts to shoot scenes for his film *Altamira* (2016), starring Antonio Banderas
