Prada Spring-Summer 2025 fashion show: the woman becomes strong through a fashion without transparencies

Although the 60s flew over the Fondazione Prada, the place to be to see the spring-summer 2025 fashion show of the brand headed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, the future seemed to be already in Milan. Because while the patterns of mini and midi skirts, coats and certain shoes are a glimpse into the past, the colour combinations, the play of mirrors and metallic elements, as well as the accessories with a science fiction flavour, have their sights set on a perhaps somewhat dystopian tomorrow. What is noteworthy about the duo of artists so respected and revered among fashion insiders is that, despite sometimes doing so in somewhat particular ways, they dress women instead of stripping them naked with transparencies, something so recurrent in recent seasons. There are jumpers, there are long dresses, there are sweatshirts, there are silver midi skirts (with holes, OK, but we'll see a nod to Op Art there), there are structured jackets in opaque suede, and there are belts.... And there are also garments and accessories created to transcend, at the very least, by their audacity. We're talking about leotards-pants with belts; visors that cover the eyes; cosmic sunglasses, almost like heroines from a not too distant future; a minibandeau with two strategic pockets, and of course, shoes that go from the most classic 60's pumps to multi-platform brogues with esparto grass included. 'A sequence of concurrent realities here are dedications to the individual, each look a unique reflection of his or her present,' reads a sentence accompanying the video of the show on Prada's Instagram. Unique reflections of a unique fashion for each individual to interpret in their own way.
