However, one of the most impressive vehicles in the entire exhibition is probably the ¦koda 1100 OHC. Its history perfectly encapsulates ¦koda's sporting ambitions in the 1950s. The project began in 1956 with an ambitious yet symbolic goal: to recapture the dream of Le Mans after the participation of the brand's sole factory car in the 1950 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 1100 OHC was an extremely advanced machine for its time. It used a welded steel tubular chassis, a fiberglass body, and a sophisticated weight distribution with the gearbox located at the rear to improve dynamic balance. Its 1,089 cc four-cylinder engine, with double overhead camshafts and twin ignition, produced 92 horsepower at 7,700 rpm, initially running on high-octane aviation fuel. SKODA
