Aston Martin DB12 S: a GT that doesn't need to shout to run
On the road, the engine is a gem. Although of German origin, its personality is filtered through Aston Martin's signature. It delivers formidable power from low revs, pulls fiercely when demanded, and above all, sounds like a true combustion-engine GT should, without any inhibitions... and without apologizing for its audacity in these times. It's not an artificial or excessive noise. It's a deep, rich, elegant soundtrack that complements the driving experience without spoiling it. The new quad-exit sports exhaust comes standard in stainless steel and can be replaced with a titanium one, which increases the sound by 1.5 dB and reduces weight by 11.7 kg. But the DB12 S isn't simply a DB12 with more power or performance figures like a top speed of 325 km/h or acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The most interesting part lies in the chassis. Aston Martin has revised the Bilstein DTX adaptive suspension, stiffened the rear anti-roll bar, and modified the camber, toe, and caster geometries. The steering and electronic rear differential have also been fine-tuned to improve driver feedback and allow for earlier acceleration out of corners
