Green, how I love you, green. Inland Asturias--the mountainous region--is dotted with valleys, glacial lakes, high mountain pastures, and viewpoints that look like something out of a movie. We traveled there to discover Somiedo, a spectacular natural film set where *The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping* (2025) was recently shot, alongside other vastly different productions such as *La montaña rebelde* (1971), *¿Para qué sirve un oso?* (2011), and *Lobos* (2022), not to mention numerous commercials and advertising campaigns. It is easy to see why filmmakers and creators are drawn to this corner of Asturias. Designated both a Natural Park and a Biosphere Reserve, Somiedo boasts some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the Cantabrian Mountains.
