This is how the resale market for Bad Bunny concerts, which bypasses Ticketmaster, is moving: 5,000 tickets in just four days in a mega WhatsApp group

After the frenzy of ticket sales for the 12 concerts that Bad Bunny has announced in Spain for the summer of 2026, with virtual queues reaching up to 300,000 people, now it's time for resale. In less than 24 hours, the Puerto Rican artist sold 600,000 tickets, and the few that can still be purchased through Ticketmaster, the platform that facilitated the sales, range between 500 and 700 euros. However, an alternative channel has opened up to bypass that platform.

Behind the account of X @spotyfrase, focused on urban music, is a guy studying Archaeology who has found a way for Ticketmaster not to have control over this resale. Said Cobos has launched a WhatsApp community, fueled by the nearly half a million followers he has on Elon Musk's social network, to facilitate direct resale at a price similar to the original. In four days, the eight groups that make up this community have received around 25,000 access requests; currently, there are over 4,000 people in these groups, and more than 5,000 tickets have already changed hands. All of this is done outside the sales platform, avoiding commissions and ensuring that the money goes entirely to the seller.

"I felt sorry for the number of people who were left without tickets, so I thought it was a good idea to move my Twitter community to WhatsApp and allow people to make their exchanges there," explains the administrator. This group serves for buying and selling, but also for exchanging tickets for the different days on which the 10 concerts in Madrid and the two in Barcelona are scheduled. The process is very simple: a person announces the tickets they want to sell, and those interested start a private conversation to arrange the purchase. "Ideally, they should do it in person or with secure payment methods like PayPal. There are people outside of here who have been scammed up to 800 euros with platforms that do not allow changes," Said points out.

In just a few minutes, the number of messages accumulating in these WhatsApp groups reaches the hundreds. And all with the same intention: to get tickets to see Bad Bunny. "In these four days, I have received about 20 messages per minute, every day," explains the organizer of this alternative resale method.

The frenzy surrounding Bad Bunny's concerts in Spain, a country he has not visited since 2019, is immense. This explains why this is the largest international tour ever in our country in the last 15 years. To put it into perspective, the Puerto Rican artist has quadrupled the number of tickets that Taylor Swift sold in 2024.

These record-breaking figures bring bad news for those wanting to attend Bad Bunny's concerts, as the supply is much lower than the demand. There are thousands of people who have been left without tickets to see Bad Bunny, creating a lucrative business for those reselling them. In fact, in this WhatsApp community, although one of the basic rules is that tickets should be sold at prices similar to the official ones, there are also those trying to profit from extra tickets they purchased. "That is uncontrollable. There are so many people that the unscrupulous ones always end up slipping through," explains Said Cobos, who has a group of individuals, including himself, to detect these irregularities and expel those who break the rules.

The issue with Bad Bunny's ticket prices has even reached the government. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs announced yesterday afternoon that it was launching an investigation against Ticketmaster for possible irregularities, following complaints filed by consumer associations like OCU, which warned of illicit surcharges or charges applied without transparency or prior information.

And there is still a year to go before Bad Bunny's concerts become a reality.
