The stay of the rapper Kanye West in Mallorca continues to fuel controversies.
The latest issue involving the controversial musician from Chicago is related to two pending bills resulting from his private activities on the island, where he has been resting for over a month with his partner, Bianca Censori, and where his team has been filming with friends and preparing the design for one of his clothing collections.
Last Tuesday, the Palma Local Police and the National Police had to intervene following a complaint from a city restaurateur who, alarmed, had reported that the musician and his extensive entourage had left him with an outstanding bill of 15,000 euros.
This alleged 'dine and dash' incident alerted another of the musician's landlords and his team of collaborators, the company that manages and rents out a monumental complex in Palma where West and his collaborators have been working, and which they closed to the public for their business activities. Upon seeing the producer's team leaving the premises, they also informed the police of their fear of not being paid the rent, which exceeds 300,000 euros.
According to sources familiar with the controversy, revealed by the Mallorcan newspaper Última Hora, West's representatives were willing to cooperate with the police and explained to the contacted officers that they had no intention of leaving without paying. They simply were relocating to another area of the island to work and had encountered some issues with international bank transfers. It was all due to a misunderstanding, they explained.
Following the complaint, they have already settled the outstanding bill at the restaurant and have ensured that they will honor the rental contracts they have signed. This was confirmed by police sources to EL MUNDO, explaining that the matter has not escalated and was resolved during the police intervention.
