Australian actor Julian McMahon has passed away at the age of 56 on Wednesday after a long battle with cancer. Renowned for his roles in series such as Charmed, Nip/Tuck, and FBI: Most Wanted, as well as his portrayal in the movie Fantastic Four, his loss has shocked the entertainment industry.

The news has been confirmed by his wife, Kelly McMahon, through a statement, where she highlighted Julian's passion for life and his love for family, work, and his fans. "Julian loved life. His greatest wish was to bring joy to as many people as possible," confesses Kelly, asking the media for privacy for the McMahon family at this time.

Some castmates like Holly Marie Combs from Charmed, remember him as "my all-time favorite headache. Saying you were unique falls short. Your boundless passion for life and that sense of humor that drove everyone crazy will be deeply missed. The joy and laughter you brought will always be remembered. I hope you find our soul friend and dance among rose petals."

Likewise, Kelly Carlson, who played Kimber Henry in Nip/Tuck, states she is "completely shocked and very sad. I didn't know he had been sick for a while," recalling that Julian "was a good friend. Jules, thank you for those incredible six or seven years together on Nip/Tuck. We had so much fun. We all did."

The actor reached leading status with Nip/Tuck, Ryan Murphy's acclaimed medical drama for FX, where he portrayed the seductive surgeon Christian Troy for six seasons. This role earned him a Golden Globe nomination and solidified him as one of the most recognizable faces on television. His versatility also led him to the big screen in blockbuster movies like Fantastic Four (where he played Victor von Doom in 2005 and its sequel) and Premonition. Recently, he had a leading role in FBI: Most Wanted, a series he left after several seasons, and had been involved in recent projects like The Residence, The Surfer, and The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat. Just a couple of months ago, McMahon had shared his excitement for the possible return of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in the Marvel Studios cinematic universe, showing his continued interest in the industry that brought him fame.
