The singer D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, is cooperating with authorities in Los Angeles in the investigation of the discovery of a corpse in a Tesla car registered in his name. The decomposed body was found on Monday in the front trunk of the vehicle, which had been seized the previous week and was at a tow yard in Hollywood.
According to a spokesperson for the artist, despite currently being on tour, D4vd has been informed of the situation and is fully cooperating with the law enforcement agencies handling the investigation. The discovery was made after tow yard workers alerted authorities about a strong odor coming from the vehicle. Police officers found the remains inside a bag, although the identity of the victim and the cause of death have not yet been confirmed.
The police have classified the case as a death investigation, and sources indicate that identifying the body may be delayed due to the advanced state of decomposition of the remains. The vehicle had been towed after being reported as abandoned in Hollywood Hills.
D4vd, 28 years old, is known for his viral success on TikTok, which led him to sign with Darkroom and Interscope Records. The singer's tour, which started in Minneapolis on Tuesday, continued with a scheduled stop in Kansas City on Wednesday. So far, the artist's record label, Universal Music Group, has referred all inquiries to the singer's lawyers.
