Aspiring gastronomic influencer Pei Chung has been sent to prison in New York after multiple reports of her visiting luxury restaurants in the city to try their delicious dishes and attempting to leave without paying the bill.
The Taiwanese woman, who flaunts clothing and accessories from top brands like Prada, Hermes, and Louis Vuitton, is already known in the city as the "diva who leaves without paying the bill".
According to The New York Post, Pei Chung has been incarcerated at Rikers Island prison after being arrested eight times in recent weeks. Her bail is set at $4,500.
The judge has requested a psychological evaluation of the influencer after her lawyer claimed she did not understand the charges against her.
Among the victims of her scams are some of the city's top restaurants, such as Francie, Lavender Lake, Motorino, and Peter Luger, as reported by the mentioned media outlet. Pei Chung allegedly visited these establishments with her own lighting equipment and a camera to film herself trying the expensive dishes.
Pei Chung claims on her Instagram that she is 1.63 meters tall and weighs 45 kilograms "without plastic surgery", also stating that she holds a double Master's degree in Science and Fine Arts.
