"2025 has been a great year, also in music" by Pedro Sánchez. Just a few hours after sharing his house tour of La Moncloa with the citizens, the President of the Government has published a list of songs "that always accompany me" under the title of Monstruo 2025.
Created on Spotify, publicly accessible with a profile picture of Sánchez himself wearing a Radio3 music station t-shirt, the playlist contains 18 songs released in 2025, although an older one sneaks in: Stand by by Extremoduro (2002). A nod to the Spanish group after the loss of their singer and founder, Robe, this December. Sánchez specifically mourned his passing on social media with a message describing Robe as "a poet who taught us never to give up."
But to kick off the list, Sánchez chooses the song One of the greats by the British indie rock band Florence + The Machine. Its translation into Spanish is Uno de los grandes.
Rosalía and Berghain, the first single from LUX (2025), take their place on the list, which is not surprising after Sánchez congratulated her for placing "Spain at the top of the world music scene, with the most successful debut by a female Spanish-speaking artist on Spotify," and recently praised it as a "wonder" in an interview on Radio3.
Sánchez's music (and book) recommendations are frequent on his social media profiles. A week ago, he shared his Wrapped of 2025 (his summary of most listened songs of the past year on Spotify) on social media. At that time, the president already defined his taste as "eclectic."
