The 80s idol thanks to 9 1/2 Weeks (1986) is on the verge of living on the streets. As reported by Daily Mail, Rourke's landlord sent him a three-day notice to pay the debt or leave the house that has been causing him so many headaches on December 18.

Apparently, the star owes $59,100 for the rent of a three-bedroom, two-bathroom, and one-half bathroom house located in southern California. Eric T. Goldie, the landlord, stated to the press that he signed the lease contract in March 2025 for $5,200 per month. Starting from the second month of occupancy, the amount increased to $7,000. The lawsuit has been filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

According to images published by different media outlets like Daily Mail, you can see how emaciated Rourke is when he is at the front door of the residence to pick up some shopping bags.

The situation is so alarming that his friend and business partner Liya-Joelle Jones has created the petition "Support Mickey to avoid eviction" on GoFundMe with the mission of being able to alleviate the debt as soon as possible.

Liya-Joelle Jones, friend and business partner of the Oscar-nominated star, organized the online fundraising with the actor's full permission, according to a statement on GoFundMe.

At the time of writing this article, the solidarity action had raised $51,680 out of a total of $100,000, which is the goal to ensure that the actor is secure in the coming months. According to his close friend, "what remains is a person who deserves dignity, housing, and the opportunity to regain his balance" and that "fame does not protect against difficulties, and talent does not guarantee stability."

According to Los Angeles Times, the same home where Rourke resides was once home to the famous noir author Raymond Chandler in the 1940s, some of whose works have been adapted for film like The Big Sleep (1946) or Farewell, My Lovely (1975).

Mickey Rourke's case is not the only one making headlines in Hollywood, as in late December it was reported that Aaron Phyphers (53), who is in the midst of a divorce process with actress Denise Richards (54) -former wife of Charlie Sheen (60)-, will be evicted from his $3.3 million mansion in Calabasas (California) for owing $84,000.
