Julio Iglesias requests the dismissal of the investigation opened against him for alleged sexual abuse. Through a document just submitted by his defense to the National Court Prosecutor's Office, he requests the issuance of a decree to dismiss the proceedings opened against him citing the "lack of jurisdiction of Spanish courts and, consequently, of the National Court Prosecutor's Office".

The artist also requests access to the investigation proceedings initiated after the complaint filed against him based on the testimony of two women, "a domestic service employee and a fellow physiotherapist", as revealed by elDiario.es. Iglesias also argues through his lawyer, José Antonio Choclán, that these women be granted the status of protected witnesses "as they have by their own decision turned the matter into a case of media interest", which in his opinion, "any claim for protection against the accused, even at a general level, should be dismissed".
