One of the best developments is called One Hyde Park, which the billionaire real estate magnates Nick and Christian Candy completed in 2010.

Located in the prime area of the exclusive Knightsbridge neighborhood facing Hyde Park, the buildings house 86 ultra-luxury apartments. To give you an idea, at the beginning of last year, a penthouse was put up for sale for $240 million and in the year of its inauguration, another was sold for $190 million.

As expected, One Hyde Park attracted the attention of some of the most important billionaires and celebrities in the world, such as singer Kylie Minogue (57), businessman Vladislav Doronin (63) - former boyfriend of Naomi Campbell (55) - and Tom Cruise (63), who in 2021 bought a penthouse because he was spending more time in the Thames capital for professional reasons than in Hollywood.

But a few days ago, the star of the Mission Impossible franchise permanently left his $48 million home because, as reported by English media such as The Mirror, London Evening Standard, and Hello!, he no longer feels safe.

The main reason is that on January 20th, six armed robbers with guns and machetes stole a valuable loot from the Rolex boutique located at the ground floor of this prestigious address. This was not the only serious incident that has occurred in Knightsbridge recently, as last year a young father of three was stabbed near Harrod's and previously there was a robbery at the Yves St. Laurent store.

An anonymous source told the Daily Mail that "he often loved to take a walk around the area (Cruise), but it seems that Knightsbridge is becoming less safe every week. He felt that the area had declined in the last year or two." There is speculation that the Hollywood star may buy a mansion in the Cotswolds, where he would be a neighbor to the Beckhams or Hugh Grant (65).

The Knightsbridge neighborhood is one of the vertices of the so-called platinum triangle of London along with Belgravia and Mayfair. It is home to Harrod's, one of the most expensive department stores in the world that was owned by Mohamed Al-Fayed, who was going to be Lady Di's father-in-law and after his death in 2023, the documentary and podcast Al-Fayed: Predator at Harrod's was released where about twenty women accused him of sexual abuse.

What attracts the wealthiest to Knightsbridge is the opportunity to shop at some of the most recognized brands in the world such as Manolo Blahnik or Christian Louboutin, which have their flagship stores in this neighborhood. Additionally, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, and Hermès, among others, are also located here.

Another major attraction of the area is Hyde Park, the largest green lung in the city where Tom Cruise used to walk or exercise surrounded by his security team. It is also possible to walk to Buckingham Palace.

Knightsbridge also stands out for being one of the most expensive areas in the British capital and, consequently, in the country. According to experts, the average rent is around $3500 per week. As for acquiring property, the price per square meter is around $15,000 in the cheapest part of the neighborhood. A picture is worth a thousand words.
