Shakira will finally give nine concerts as part of her European residency in Madrid, adding three more dates at the Iberdrola Music venue in the Villaverde district. Therefore, the Colombian artist will perform in the Spanish capital on September 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27, dates that were already scheduled, plus October 2, 3, and 4, the newly announced dates. Within the venue, there will be what the organizers have called the 'Shakira Stadium', accommodating 50,000 people each day, totaling 450,000 attendees, still short of the 600,000 that Bad Bunny will gather.
In each concert, Shakira will be the focus of an experience called 'Es Latina', lasting twelve hours: from noon until midnight on the day the show ends.
On March 25, the ticket presale starts at Santander Smusic, which will be done in stages: at 10:00 am, the presale for the dates of September 25, 26, and 27 will be unlocked; at 10:30 am, it will be available for October 2, 3, and 4; and the last stage will start at 12:00 pm, unlocking the presale for September 18, 19, and 20.
The presale of Live Nation tickets, taking place tomorrow, March 26, will follow the same staged format and maintain the same schedule.
The general sale on March 27 will also be in stages, allowing the purchase of tickets for the dates September 25, 26, and 27 at 10:00 am; for October 2, 3, and 4 at 10:30 am; and for September 18, 19, and 20 at 12:00 pm.
The venue hosting Shakira's concerts has previously hosted events like the Mad Cool festival. Last September, the judge of Instruction number 34 in Madrid opened an oral trial against the sole administrator of Mad Cool and the company itself for an alleged crime against the Environment related to noise during the 2023 edition.
For this European residency of Shakira, the Iberdrola Music venue is renamed Macondo Park - a reference to Gabriel García Márquez's novel 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' - with 40 hectares serving as a stage for performances before, during, and after the concerts.
The architect of this space has stated that the Colombian artist has been involved in the design of Macondo Park, a place that is not permanent and will be set up and dismantled "in weeks." He mentioned that the floor could accommodate up to 20,000 people, while the stands could hold 30,000.
