The world of cinema and theater is in mourning following the death of John Nolan at the age of 87. Despite being a less recognized face within his family, he had very prominent roles such as John Greer, the main antagonist in the series Person of Interest, as well as in other productions.

He was the uncle of Christopher Nolan, one of the most renowned filmmakers in Hollywood at the moment, with whom he participated in the Batman trilogy, 'The Dark Knight'. Nolan portrayed Douglas Fredericks, a member of the Wayne Enterprises board. He also appeared in the epic Dunkirk in 2017, and in his nephew's directorial debut, Following.

On television, he starred in the miniseries Daniel Deronda in 1970, as well as as scientist Hardcastle in Doomwatch and other appearances in productions like Return of the Saint, Silent Witness, and The Prisoner.

His wife, actress Kim Hartman, described him as a "free spirit" and an "original thinker". "Articulate, intelligent, and with a quirky wit, he was always willing to consider both sides of an argument," she concluded.
