Reinventing oneself after being a Hollywood star is not always easy, but if you want, you can. Just ask Amber Heard, who celebrated her 40th birthday this Wednesday in her desired anonymity at her home in Madrid.

The star of Aquaman (2018) decided to settle in the capital after a brief stint in Mallorca following the high-profile trial for alleged abuse that pitted her against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp (62). They met during the filming of The Rum Diary (2011), started dating, and got married in 2016. A year later, they separated.

The actor sued her for defamation for 50 million dollars in March 2019 because she wrote an article in The Washington Post where, without naming him, she explained that she had been abused by "a public figure representing domestic violence."

Three years later, a jury in Virginia (United States) ruled in favor of the protagonist of Pirates of the Caribbean with 10 million dollars in compensatory damages and another five in punitive damages. In June 2023, a final agreement was reached where Amber paid one million dollars to her ex-husband.

That scandal marked the actress's career, as she was considered a vindictive outcast, leading to the industry closing its doors to her. After all, Depp is the one profitable for the box office.

In an effort to make a fresh start, Amber bought in April 2023 a 253-square-meter chalet in the sought-after area of El Viso for 1.5 million euros. The discretion of the neighbors and the peacefulness of the streets have allowed her to have a balanced life where her best role is that of a mother.

Through surrogacy, and without revealing the father's identity, the actress has three children, Ooanah Paige (5) and the one-year-old twins Agnes and Ocean. Her desire to savor motherhood was evident on the Today show with Savannah Guthrie. During the interview, Amber mentioned that now she can "be a full-time mother because I don't have to juggle the experience with calls to lawyers."

On her Instagram account, the former star posted last year: "When I had my first daughter, Oonagh, four years ago, my world changed forever. I thought I couldn't be any happier. Well, now I'm about to burst three times." Through her social media, she can be seen enjoying time with her girls playing in the living room or preparing delicious dishes in the kitchen.

As reported by Daily Mail, the American actress blends in with the area. A neighbor told the tabloid, "she lives here in peace, this is a neighborhood full of famous people, including soccer players, but nobody bothers her, I think that's why she likes it. She has fully integrated into the community."

Initially, there were paparazzi around her home, but the frenzy for capturing images of Amber diminished. "No one here really knows who she is, she's not recognized on the street like in America," the woman adds. The same source has stated that Amber "wears a cap, sunglasses, and regular clothes and keeps a low profile."

It is known that her eldest daughter, Oonagh, attends a private Catholic school where she is picked up in the afternoons. On more than one occasion, they have been seen at the Taste of America supermarket buying American products that remind them of home, such as Ben & Jerry's ice cream or Betty Crocker sweets.
