Several days ago, Candice Bergen celebrated her 80th birthday. It seems like just yesterday when she played around in her parents' grand mansion in Beverly Hills, her prestigious ventriloquist and announcer father, Edgar Bergen, and actress and model mother, Polly Bergen.

She quickly chose the world of cinema as her way of life, starring in one of her best filmsRich and Famous (1981), alongside Jacqueline Bisset, and the last film directed by the classic George Cukor. However, undoubtedly, her peak of fame was reached with the series Murphy Brown (1988-1998).

By then, she was already married to the prestigious French director Louis Malle, with whom she had her daughterChole (40), who last September replaced Anne Wintour as the Editorial Content Director of the U.S. edition of Vogue.

She was widowed from the director of Goodbye, Children (1987) in 1995 and became widowed again last year with the passing of the billionaire real estate developer and philanthropist Marshall Rose. The couple lived in one of the most exclusive addresses in New York, specifically at 1040 Fifth Avenue.

Precisely this 740-square-meter apartment with 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms has just been put up for sale for 35 million dollars (31 million euros). Being alone now, the actress has considered it too large for her as it occupies the entire sixteenth floor. The 1930 limestone building was designed by Rosario Candela, one of the city's most prominent architects, making it one of the most coveted in the city.

Candice Bergen's home - where Jackie Kennedy lived downstairs for thirty years - is a display of contemporary elegance with one of the best views of Central Park. From the main terrace, a rarity in the city, you can see the best skyline of the city's wealthiest area, the grandeur of the Metropolitan Museum, and the park's largest lake honoring the memory of former First Lady Jackie K. Onassis.

The apartment is accessed by a private elevator that opens to an immense gallery from which you can access three of the most noble areas. According to the Zillow portal, there is a large west-facing living room with a wood-burning fireplace and French doors opening to one of the terraces, an exquisite library also with a fireplace and wood panels facing south, and an elegant dining room facing south.

The master bedroom stands out with access to another terrace with stunning park views, a large wood-burning fireplace, a large private bathroom, and a walk-in closet. The other three en-suite bedrooms - two of them facing Central Park - have built-in closets and are also spacious.

In the immense white kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, the large central island, pantry, large windows allowing plenty of natural light, and a large space serving as a breakfast nook stand out. It also includes two rooms with a shared bathroom for the staff.

The monthly maintenance of the apartment is just over 18,000 dollars, and interested buyers must pay in cash since the community, responsible for approving new tenants, requires clients to have a minimum of 100 million dollars in their bank accounts.

Following this decision, a few months ago Candice Bergen purchased another apartment according to her needs for 2.1 million dollars in the neoclassical building located at 825 Fifth Avenue.
