During the filming of I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), Sarah Michelle Gellar (49) and Freddie Prinze Jr. (50) fell in love, but they didn't start dating until three years later. In 2002, they got married in Mexico and have two children, Charlotte Grace (17) and Rocky James (14), who have grown up in a beautiful mansion in the residential neighborhood of Brentwood in Los Angeles.
Now that their children are teenagers, the star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the actor Freddie have decided to sell their magnificent property for 10.5 million dollars, which is a significant increase from when they bought it over a decade ago for 6.1 million dollars. In the past year, the house has been rented for $60,000 per month.
Inside, creamy tones and warm woods dominate to provide a sense of clarity and spaciousness, along with French doors. The main entrance stands out with its porch of white columns that lead to a double-height foyer featuring shiny wooden floors and wooden ceilings, leading to a huge room where the kitchen with a central island for dining, high-end appliances, and custom premium wood furniture are located.
In the same area, there is a living room and next to it, a formal dining room that can accommodate 10 people, decorated with floral wallpaper and light-toned furniture, with a chandelier on the ceiling. The adjacent room features a study lined with wooden shelves.
The living room showcases a beautiful modern black fireplace with white frames, sofas and armchairs in different shades of brown, and in one corner, the majestic black grand piano is placed. This room has large windows and sliding doors that provide direct access to the garden and pool.
Upstairs, the highlight is the master suite for the couple with a living room, two bathrooms (one with a vanity), and two dream walk-in closets for man and woman. The latter has a large center island for storing accessories. In an interview with E! News, the star, also known for her role in the Scooby-Doo franchise alongside her husband, confessed that the success of their long marriage lies in having "separate bathrooms. I always say the same thing, separate bathrooms are the best option."
Additionally, the bedroom has a private balcony with views of the lush backyard, perfect for those relaxing moments when you want to breathe fresh air with a cup of coffee.
The well-maintained backyard invites reflection. It features a rectangular pool with entry stairs and integrated spa, a paved relaxation area, and a covered patio for outdoor dining with a large outdoor kitchen with a built-in barbecue.
