After almost three years of relationship, Jane Seymour (75) has gotten engaged again (this is her fifth time). Her boyfriend, the emergency room musician and doctor John Zambetti (77), popped the famous question while kneeling at the foot of the bed where the actress was trying to sleep.
It was on Valentine's Day, although the news has just come out. The proposal moment was a bit clumsy as, after taking the ring from the safe, when he knelt down, the jewel rolled off under the bed. It was quite an odyssey to retrieve it. "It was the sweetest and funniest moment, it almost got stuck under the bed," the actress told Hello! magazine.
The ring has an important historical reference as it is a Toi et Moi ring that was designed by Napoleon Bonaparte for Josefina. It is a romantic vintage floral design with two main diamonds placed side by side, surrounded by other smaller diamonds set in the same yellow gold band symbolizing the union of two soulmates.
The couple met at a nightclub in Malibu, not far from the beachfront mansion that the star of Dr. Quinn owns in the area. Stephen told his eldest son to find out if that beautiful woman was single since their children already knew each other. And the spark ignited.
"All I can say is that I have never been happier in my life, and I am absolutely committed to this happiness forever," the actress stated on the Today show.
Regarding the engagement day, the British actress told Hello!: "We tried to keep it a secret for a while, but we couldn't. We were too happy, we told several friends and family members and since then, we have been quietly celebrating with our closest friends."
Between John and Jane, they have eight children.
