Actors Robert De Niro and Richard Dean Anderson (best known for playing MacGyver) are the latest in a long list of well-known figures who have referred to U.S. President Donald Trump using derogatory terms and insults.
This Wednesday, during a protest in New York, the 'Taxi Driver' actor exploded against Trump, calling him a "coward." De Niro accused the US President of trying to take away the voice and power of voters and delivered a direct statement: "Keep your damn hands off our vote."
This is not the first time De Niro has criticized Donald Trump. Particularly notable was during a Kamala Harris rally in Pennsylvania in October 2024, when he expressed being "damn angry" to be talking about "a piece of shit like Donald Trump."
On the other hand, the President of the United States lashed out at Robert De Niro calling him "sick and deranged" after the 'The Godfather' actor suggested on a podcast to "get rid of" the president. In a message shared on his social media, Trump labeled the actor as "mentally unstable" and questioned his intelligence.
"Trump is the enemy of this country, let's not fool ourselves," said De Niro on the 'The Best People' podcast by Nicolle Wallace, published in February of this year. "Let's not fool ourselves. He won't leave (power). It's up to us to get rid of him. We have to make sure... We have to get rid of him. He's going to ruin the country. People need to mobilize now and be ready for the midterm elections," added the actor.
Por otra parte, este fin de semana, el actor estadounidense Richard Dean Anderson, famoso por su interpretación de MacGyver, criticó duramente al presidente de Estados Unidos durante una conferencia celebrada en la Comic-Con Málaga de San Diego.
In a talk about his career and life, which began with apologies for the president they have, he returned to the subject in a question about his passion for animals, where he ended up using those terms against Trump, believing he does "very little" to help people, animals, or the environment.
The entertainment world's angry reactions to certain statements and Trump's political approach are numerous. After Trump's electoral victory, Madonna strongly criticized him on her social media by posting a picture of a cake and questioning how voters could choose someone with his criminal record.
The case of Arnold Schwarzenegger is particularly interesting. The former Republican governor of California warned in October 2024 that a Donald Trump victory would mean "four more years with no results." Despite belonging to the same party as the current US president, Schwarzenegger made this statement when publicly announcing his vote for the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 US presidential elections.
One of the most vocal in insults has been the former boxer turned actor Mickey Rourke, who even stated that he would hit President Donald Trump if they were to meet again, warning that he would deliver a "hellish left hook." In an extraordinary speech full of profanities, the Oscar-nominated star claimed to have a personal grudge with the 45th president over an incident where Trump allegedly sued him and the late rapper Tupac Shakur. "He said very nasty things about the two of us. And you know what? It's personal. The day will come when he is no longer president and we will meet. And they will understand me."
In 2019, singer John Legend called Trump a "damn ulcer in the entire landscape of the United States." Also that year, The Shape of Water actor, Michael Shannon, described Trump as an "evil and soulless ."
A year earlier, actor Jack Black also insulted Trump during his speech at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And he compared him to Charlie Sheen "when he was on drugs."
