There was a time when Andre Agassi (56) and Steffi Graf (57) were the kings of the court in tennis tournaments. Both won the Wimbledon tournament in their respective categories in 1992, but at that time, there was only camaraderie between them and, at most, a platonic love from the American. When Agassi first saw her on television, he was captivated by her discipline, elegance, and calm demeanor.
It wasn't until 1999 when the tennis player's team organized a joint training session at the Key Biscayne tournament, and Agassi dared to court his colleague after divorcing Brooke Shields. The initiative went so well that the couple got married, barefoot, on October 22, 2001 in the backyard of their Las Vegas home. Therefore, they are about to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.
Four days later, their first child, Jaden Gil, was born. And in October 2003, their daughter, Jaz Elle, came into the world.
From the beginning, the couple was clear that they wanted to protect their offspring from the slavery and loneliness of the extreme sport they both practiced, so they gave them total freedom to discover their own passions. According to Agassi, he even used some indirect persuasion to dissuade them in case they had shown interest.
Only Jaden Gil has professionally inherited the athletic skills of his famous parents, but in a different discipline. At just six years old, he became so passionate about baseball during extracurricular activities that he decided to go pro. In 2019, he signed as a pitcher for the USC Trojans, the team of the University of Southern California while studying Business Administration.
He later represented the German national baseball team internationally and since 2024, he has been playing for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the MLB Draft League, a six-team league created in 2021 by Major League Baseball and Prep Baseball Report.
"The Agassi name is closely linked to tennis, but my goal is to establish it in baseball," he said in an interview with the local news channel WKBN in the United States. The young man has always been grateful to his parents for understanding his decision because "they have been through everything and seen it all, and have been of great help. They provide me with a lot of support and love, and I can always count on them."
Standing at 190 cm tall and weighing 99 kilos, Jaden aspires to become a legendary player but, to achieve that, he must train hard and prove his worth. In his team profile, it stands out that in his free time, he loves eating oven-baked pork ribs.
On a more personal note, since September 2022, he has been dating Catherine Holt, a graduate in Applied Physiology and Sports Management. In her LinkedIn profile, she makes her intention clear: "I am immensely passionate about the sports industry and the desire to make an impact as a woman in this field." Although Jaden is not a big fan of Instagram, where he only has 18 posts, when they celebrated two years together, he wrote: "The best two years of my life, all thanks to you! I love you so much and look forward to many more."
If Jaden Gil is a fairly private person, his sister Jaz Elle is even more so. The little that is known about her is that she graduated in fashion and business from the University of Nevada, and her main hobbies include horseback riding, snowboarding, and dancing.
In the romantic aspect, she dated baseball player Parker Aquino for just over a year and since this past summer, she has been living with John Fertitta, son of billionaire magnate Tilman Fertitta, who is also the owner of the Houston Rockets and the U.S. ambassador to Italy under Trump's administration.
A few days ago, the young man wished his girlfriend a happy birthday on Instagram with a selfie of them together in front of a mirror. "Happy birthday to my favorite person," he wrote. Elle responded with several red hearts.
Andre and Steffi are happy that their children have found their paths and are happy on their own merits. The young adults moved out some time ago and live with their respective partners, which has led the former tennis couple to deal with empty nest syndrome. To fill those moments, they frequently play pickleball, a paddle sport they started to enjoy during the pandemic.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Steffi and Andre each have a fortune of 145 million dollars.
