The controversial presenter Laura Bozzo (75) has made headlines this week not for her legal problems, but due to her health condition. As confirmed by her representative, the Peruvian has been urgently admitted to a hospital in Acapulco.
According to what her manager told Telemundo, a few days ago Bozzo experienced severe abdominal pain which, accompanied by severe dehydration and a series of intestinal complications, forced her to be transferred to the IMSS-Bienestar El Quemado Hospital.
There, Laura was urgently admitted and diagnosed with a perforated duodenal ulcer. As this is a condition that could lead to peritonitis, the doctors decided to perform a surgical procedure on her. And how is she now? According to her representative, her condition is "stable", despite rumors circulating a few hours ago that she was in a "serious" condition.
The very Bozzo has decided to calm the speculations, posting a statement on her Instagram. "Thank you very much for the public's show of affection, whom I love so much. I want them to know that I am fine, that I am calm with my family and with the best doctors in Acapulco", she stated before closing with a humorous remark. "They won't get rid of this mummy", she pointed out.
In case you don't remember Bozzo just by her name, let us tell you that in the 90s, she became famous in countries like Chile, Argentina, and Mexico for a program called Laura en América, which specialized in exposing family wars and scandalous infidelities. In fact, that was the reason why Javier Sardà and his team decided to bring her to Crónicas Marcianas.
That way, in the year 2000, Laura became known in Spain and in 2023, Telecinco decided to exploit her popularity again in Gran Hermano VIP 8, where she starred in clashes that went viral. Because if there is something that identifies Bozzo, it is precisely the word "controversial".
Furthermore, in recent years, she has been in the news numerous times due to her legal troubles. In 2002, she was arrested in Peru for her alleged links to the corruption network of former President Alberto Fujimori and his advisor Vladimiro Montesinos, which led her to spend almost three years under house arrest.
But her troubles did not end there. In 2021, Mexican justice accused her of an alleged tax offense related to the sale of a seized property and issued a arrest warrant against her. The situation escalated to the point where Interpol issued a red notice to locate her in over 190 countries. However, in the end, she managed to have the arrest warrant suspended.
Since then, Laura seemed to lead a much calmer life until an unexpected setback led her to the hospital.
