One year and two months after the end ofAnd Just Like That - the spin-off of Sex and the City - one of its stars continues talking about the series. We are referring to Kristin Davis (61), who has a podcast called Are You a Charlotte?, in honor of her well-known character.
During the 185 episodes that aired, the American actress has interviewed Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Jason Lewis. However, none of those episodes has caused as much impact as the last one, which had Evan Handler as a special guest, the actor who played Harry Goldenblatt, Charlotte's husband.
And the problem Field had with her? Supposedly, that her anatomy did not match the ideal of a TV celebrity. "Pat was very frustrated with my curves, because when we started - in 1998 or 1997 - everything was straight, completely straight. And I have never been straight, no matter how much I tried to diet," the actress stated.
"In fact, there was a moment, at the beginning of the series, when my ribs were visible. I had lost a lot of weight. It was towards the end of a season, during one of those summers when it was very hot. And I remember only eating M&M's. I spent a couple of weeks only eating M&M's," she affirmed.
"I don't know how I didn't go crazy... and I lost my chest! I was practically all bones. And she said 'great!'," she expressed, before stating that during that period she considered that she "wasn't eating real food". "That was not healthy," she asserted before explaining why she only consumed that type of snacks.
"I had read that ballet dancers smoked cigarettes and ate chocolates. So I thought 'well, if they can do it, I can too'. But I didn't smoke... I mean, I don't know what was wrong with me. Well, I guess deep down, I do know what was wrong. It was a combination of several things," she declared.
In the podcast, Handler has opened up about his insecurities. He mentioned that during the series, people would often approach him on the street to say that he looked "thinner than on TV", and Davis ended up confessing that similar things happened to her.
"They would say things like 'you're not really fat'... and you would be thinking 'okay. Is there anything else you want to tell me to get us out of this moment?'. Because it's very uncomfortable. But yes, I also went through that for quite some time, and it's very difficult," reflected the star.
