It has been three years since Matthew Perry's death shocked the film world. The Friends actor died at 54 due to an accidental ketamine overdose that caused him to drown in his jacuzzi.

Now, Netflix has released a new documentary titled The Matthew Perry Story, which reviews the actor's life and includes testimonies from family and friends. There are three episodes now available on the platform in which his sister recalls the appearance of his Friends co-stars at the funeral.

"The funeral was very small, just for family and close friends. I remember sitting in the front row with our family. And then the rest of the Friends cast entered together," Mia Perry Bowick recalled.

The six main cast members of Friends shared 10 years of filming, from 1994 to 2004, and maintained a close personal relationship beyond the screen. After Matthew Perry's death, his five co-stars (Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer) publicly expressed their grief over the loss of someone they considered part of their family.

"I hadn't seen them in about 20 years. Jen Aniston was the first to come over and give me a big hug, and then the others did too. Then, the five walked to the casket hand in hand and stood around it, crying," she shared.

A moment of unity that made even those present feel that Perry was also among them.

Why Doesn't the Friends Cast Appear in the Matthew Perry Documentary?

One notable absence in the documentary is that of Perry's Friends co-stars. However, director Mary Robertson explained the reasons to Page Six. Although they were all offered the opportunity, they chose to stay away and not speak about the death of their dear friend.
