Mickey Mouse lands in the Middle East. This has been announced by Walt Disney Company and Miral, the creator of immersive destinations and experiences in Abu Dhabi. Their first new park in 15 years will be nestled on Yas Island, an entertainment and leisure destination aiming to connect travelers from the Middle East and Africa, India, Asia, Europe, and beyond. This seventh resort with a Disney theme park aims to blend Disney's iconic stories, characters, and attractions with the culture, stunning coastlines, and impressive architecture of Abu Dhabi.

"What we are creating with Disney in Abu Dhabi is a completely new world of imagination: an experience that will inspire generations from the entire region and the world," assures His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of Miral, which will develop and construct the resort entirely. Disney and its legendary Imagineers, on the other hand, will lead the creative design and operational supervision. Miral, which has developed several family entertainment destinations on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with American and European brands, will operate the resort.

What can we expect from the new park? According to Disney, "our seventh theme park destination will rise spectacularly from the ground, combining contemporary architecture with cutting-edge technology to offer visitors deeply immersive entertainment experiences in unique and modern ways."

Robert A. Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, has explained that "Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be authentically Disney and distinctively Emirati: an oasis of extraordinary Disney entertainment in this crossroads of the world that will bring our timeless characters and stories to life in many new ways and become a source of joy and inspiration for the inhabitants of this vast region for generations to enjoy."

Josh D'Amaro, president of Disney Experiences, adds that the new resort "will be the most advanced and interactive destination" in their portfolio. "The location of our park is incredibly unique, surrounded by a beautiful coastline, allowing us to tell our stories in completely new ways."

The resort will not only feature a theme park but will also offer themed accommodations, dining experiences, and shopping.
