Anyone who visited a pub or nightclub in the 90s has had to listen to, and inevitably dance to, the song 'Push the Feeling On'. What almost no one will know is that this dance music anthem was created and performed by John Reid and his group Nightcrawlers. The Scottish musician passed away suddenly on Tuesday at the age of 61, as revealed by TFX singer Mary Kiani, who was engaged to Reid for nine years.

A versatile artist, after the success of Nightcrawlers, he continued his career as a DJ and composer. In the latter role, he achieved great success and wrote songs for music legends. He composed, among many other songs, 'When the Heartache Is Over' for Tina Turner and 'A Moment Like This' for Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis. He also worked with artists like Simon Cowell, Rod Stewart, and Eternal.

Mary Kiani has mourned the death of her former partner. "I just found out this morning that my first love, John Reid, passed away suddenly. We met in Glasgow, but fell in love in London. He was recording his album with Roy Hay (from Culture Club) for his new band, This Way Up. Danusia Danoosha, Zaremba, and I were on tour, and every night we would meet at the Columbian hotel," she recalled.

"We parted ways 9 years later. Last year, I contacted him. I told him I would love to say hello again before either of us passed away. I saw him last year in Glasgow. Rest in peace, John. With love, Bubbs. Kisses and hugs," she added.

Singer Chris Judge, a friend of Reid, also wanted to bid farewell to him. "I remember him touring the country... when he was in the boy band days, he was always a very nice guy, very encouraging and supportive of all the new bands... he had a lot of success as a composer, but it was his voice that I loved, he was an incredible singer and highly respected," he wrote on his social media.
