The music supervisor of the show American IdolRobin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, both 70 years old, were found dead on Monday afternoon in their Los Angeles mansion.
Police responded to the residence, located in the Encino neighborhood, for a welfare check and discovered the bodies of a man and a woman with gunshot wounds.
A spokesperson for American Idol confirmed that the victims were Kaye and her husband. Public records show that the couple owned the property.
The Los Angeles Police Department stated that the deaths are being investigated as homicides.
NBC News reports, citing police sources, that a 22-year-old man named Raymond Boodarian from Encino has been arrested as a suspect in the double homicide.
The news outlet mentioned that police had received a report of a possible burglary at the residence on Thursday but found nothing suspicious. However, investigators believe that the burglar may have entered the house that day and that the owners returned while the intruder was still there. According to the police, there may have been a confrontation, and the suspect shot the victims multiple times before fleeing on foot.
