It had previously secured the title of the best adventure destination in Europe, but now it is the best in the world. We are talking about the province of Huesca, which has just won the award in the latest edition of the World Travel Awards, considered the Oscars of tourism and the highest international recognition in the sector. With this distinction, it has surpassed others like Banff in Canada, Queenstown in New Zealand, or the Azores Islands in Portugal, the most prominent at the regional level, as Chile did at the country level.

Hiking routes in the Ordesa Valley, paragliding in the town of Castejón de Sos, the mecca of this sport for its fans, canyoning and climbing in the Sierra de Guara, via ferrata in Sorrosal, skiing in the Pyrenees, kayaking in the Sobrarbe reservoir, cycling on countless marked routes throughout the region, birdwatching at the Sariñena lagoon, where more than 12,000 birds gather, astrotourism in the Natural Monument of the Mallos de Riglos, Agüero, and Peña Rueba...

These are some of the adventure experiences that can be enjoyed in Huesca for which it has received the award, reaffirming its status as a "magical, diverse, and prepared" territory to lead the adventure tourism of the future, as stated by the representatives of the tourism brand Huesca la magia during the award ceremony held a few days ago in Bahrain.

Among them is the president of Sports Tourism of Aragon, Eduardo Jubert, who attended the ceremony a few days ago in Bahrain on behalf of the more than 500 companies and 400 people involved in activities related to action in nature in this Spanish province. "It is a collective achievement, the result of the teamwork of all professionals who have contributed to positioning the destination internationally," he added.

In the same line, the president of the Provincial Council of Huesca, Isaac Claver, expressed that it represents "a recognition of the talent and work of our people," which will provide more work and visibility to rural areas. In total, the region managed to receive more than 950,000 votes from the experts participating in the contest, positioning itself ahead of other places like Hokkaido in Japan, Karaok in Kyrgyzstan, Krabi in Thailand, Madeira in Portugal, Moab in the United States, and Phong Nha in Vietnam, also awarded in the same category.
