Northern Irish actor Finnian Garbutt, known for his role in the series Hope Street, has revealed that the cancer he has been battling for four years has taken a negative turn recently and he is "entering the final stages" of his life.
"Over the last month or so, I have been experiencing significant back and hip pain. My oncology team admitted me for some tests. Unfortunately, the scans have shown that the cancer has rapidly progressed in my body, and now I am entering the final stages of my life," stated the 28-year-old actor in a post on Instagram.
"I am sharing this because it is very difficult to tell each person individually, and I hope that now that it is public I can enjoy time with my wonderful family and friends," he continued in the emotional post.
"Since being diagnosed with the illness four years ago, I have achieved many of my life goals: 30 episodes in a television series, starring in a movie (to be released soon), buying my own house, marrying my best friend, and being a father to an incredible daughter who always makes me smile," stated Garbutt, who shared a photo with his little one.
Subsequently, the actor has started a campaign on GoFundMe to raise funds to secure his wife and daughter's future. "I am not sharing this to seek sympathy, and I do not want anyone to donate if they cannot afford it. I just want my wife and baby to have the life they deserve, and I wanted to be the one to provide it, something that unfortunately is no longer possible," he assured in a new post.
