The In-N-Out Burger establishment in Hollywood, located just a few blocks from the Dolby Theatre, has become a nearly obligatory stop and an unofficial symbol of the big film celebration in Los Angeles. However, this year, the atmosphere at the venue was unusually quiet and subdued compared to the buzz of previous editions.

Historically, figures like Paul Giamatti or the team behind the movie "Flow" have been seen celebrating their victories with a burger in one hand and a trophy in the other. This curious mix of the industry's highest honor and Californian fast food is so irresistible that even Vanity Fair magazine includes these burgers at its exclusive after-party. Mark Guiducci, the magazine's editor, recently recalled this tradition by sharing a photo of statuettes next to the soda fountain at the venue. Following this custom, this year saw the visit of Michael B. Jordan, who showed up at the burger joint with his Oscar for the movie 'The Sinners'.

This stands out on a night where, despite the overflowing parking lot and a doorman controlling the crowd of regular customers, the usual starry shine was missing. Around 10 p.m., reports indicate that neither the seat-fillers nor the big stars with their awards had shown up. Although the connection between Oscar glamour and the taste of In-N-Out remains a cultural reference, the dull atmosphere this year suggests that, on this occasion, most winners opted for different celebrations.
