Elon Musk has criticized the castings of Lupita Nyong'o and Elliot Page for the new movie The Odyssey, by Homer, directed by Christopher Nolan. Through various comments and reposts on the social network X, the Tesla CEO echoed messages attacking the Kenyan actress and Page, who is a transgender actor.

In statements to Time magazine, Nolan confirmed that Nyong'o will play Helen of Troy, of whom Homer wrote: "It is not shameful that Trojans and Achaeans suffer so long for a woman like her; her beauty is like that of the immortal goddesses".

Following the announcement, Elon Musk shared a post from conservative commentator Matt Walsh, a controversial figure on social media, in which he stated: "Not a single person on the planet really thinks Lupita Nyong'o is "the most beautiful woman in the world". But Christopher Nolan knows he would be called racist if he gave the role of "the most beautiful woman" to a white woman. Nolan has technical talent, but he is a coward".

Musk then replied: "True". He also commented on the famous Oscar quotas, which establish standards of representation and inclusion to qualify for the 'Best Picture' category: "He wants all the awards". However, the reality is that these rules have little to do with the casting selection process.

On the other hand, Elliot Page previously collaborated with the British director in the movie Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. In other posts, the entrepreneur shared messages mocking the actor's masculinity, denying that he possesses masculinity. The movie will premiere in theaters on July 17th.
