Devoted day and night to caring for her husband, Corinna recalled that at the beginning of their romance, "my mother was completely against it. Michael was always on the go-kart track and always pushing others aside." She also confessed that their first love song was Paula Abdul's Rush Rush: "When I hear it in the car today, I cry silently."
Regarding her husband's condition, she remains cautious, asserting her right to protect his privacy, but still expresses that "he gives the impression that he understands some of the things happening around him, but probably not all (...) Michael is here. Different, but he is here, and that gives us strength, I believe. He continues to show me how strong he is every day."
The Daily Mail revealed earlier this year that the former racing driver is no longer bedridden but can use a wheelchair to be taken around the estate.
Corinna and Michael met in 1991 through a mutual friend and got married four years later in a civil ceremony in Mannheim (Germany). They have two children, Gina-Maria (29) and Mick (27), who has followed in his father's footsteps.
