American comedian Reggie McFadden, known for his appearances on the shows In Living Color and Def Comedy Jam, has passed away at the age of 57. His death has been confirmed by his sister, the writer Bernice McFadden, to the American outlet The Hollywood Reporter.

As explained by his sister, the United States Department of State informed the family that McFadden had died in Tanzania, the country where he had been residing for about 18 years. At the moment, his relatives do not know the exact date of his death or the circumstances surrounding it.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 30, 1968, McFadden began his comedy career after performing in Manhattan venues. His big break came in 1991 when he appeared on Def Comedy Jam, HBO's popular show that served as a platform for numerous African American comedians.

After moving to Los Angeles, he started landing small roles in television series like Martin, Hangin with Mr. Cooper, Moesha, and Coach, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

But one of the works he will be remembered for is his participation in In Living Color. Between 1993 and 1994, he was part of the cast of the famous sketch series created by Keenen Ivory Wayans. McFadden was part of the fifth and final season of the show and appeared in various sketches.

His career also included some work in film and television. Over the years, he gradually distanced himself from the American entertainment industry and settled in Tanzania, where he started a company dedicated to music and entertainment.
