An electrical system failure has affected all of Spain. Areas of Portugal and France also seem to have been affected. In several areas, the power has not yet been restored, and confusion is at its peak among the population.

Transportation services have been affected. Metro and Renfe have reported a general power grid failure that is preventing the normal operation of all their lines. Electricity has not yet returned to Barajas airport.

Renfe reports trains stopped at all stations due to the blackout

Aagesen heads to Red Eléctrica's control center

The Minister for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge of the Government, Sara Aagesen, is currently heading to Red Eléctrica's control center to firsthand assess the situation and monitor the incident. All necessary means will be deployed to restore normalcy as soon as possible, as reported by Paula María.
