The widespread power outage affecting all of Spain is causing transportation chaos. Major traffic jams in cities, halted trains, and Metro evacuations are some of the initial consequences.

Renfe has reported trains stopped at all stations due to the power outage and that departures from stations will not take place. "A general incident affecting the power supply has interrupted rail traffic across the entire network," Adif states on its X account (formerly Twitter).

Evacuations in the Metro and Cercanías of Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia, among others

The power outage affecting Spain has also left the Barcelona metro without service, leading to thousands of passengers being stranded and subsequently evacuated. Additionally, the blackout has forced the tram service in the city to be suspended.

The Cercanías in Madrid are also facing the same situation, as reported, with passengers being evacuated from the stations. The Madrid Transport Department reports the use of generators, but both Metro and Cercanías remain halted with passengers being evacuated at stations.

The same situation has occurred in Valencia and Seville. Metrovalencia has warned that "due to a general electrical failure in Valencia, circulation across the entire network is interrupted." They state that they "do not know" the extent or duration of the failure. In Seville, they have also reported evacuating the city's metro.
