Real Madrid has made official the signing of Dean Huijsen, a center-back born in the Netherlands and naturalized Spanish, coming from Bournemouth, from June 1st until June 30th, 2030.
Huijsen will be part of the Madrid expedition that will travel to the United States to compete in the Club World Cup on June 14th, and before that, he will be called up by Luis de la Fuente for the Nations League Final Four.
Huijsen was born in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, but moved to Malaga at the age of five. He played in the youth academy of the Andalusian team and at the age of 16, already sought after by Madrid, he signed for Juventus' youth academy. In 2023, he was loaned to Roma and in 2024 sought his opportunity at Bournemouth, which paid 15 million for him.
One season later, and following the injury problems suffered by Madrid's defense, the club digs deep into their pockets and will pay almost 60 million for him.
Huijsen has been internationally capped for the Netherlands in the youth categories, but in February 2024, he received Spanish nationality and decided to wear the Spain jersey. De la Fuente made him debut on March 20th of this year in the Nations League quarter-finals, coincidentally in Amsterdam against the Netherlands.
