The Russian Army carried out a new massive attack on several regions of Ukraine on Monday night, including the capital. It is in Kiev where drones and missiles have caused the most damage. At least 16 people have died and nearly 124 have been injured after Russian bombs hit a residential building, destroying at least 30 apartments. In total, Russia launched 440 drones and 32 missiles on Ukraine this morning.
The offensive, the most recent in a series of large-scale drone and missile attacks on the Ukrainian capital, comes as leaders of the world's major democracies gather in Canada for a G7 summit attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Recent peace talks between Moscow and Kiev are at a standstill, with both parties standing firm in their distant positions. Moscow rejected the "unconditional" ceasefire demanded by Kiev and its European allies, while Ukraine dismissed Russian demands as "ultimatums."
Russian Version on the Deployment of North Korean Military
Moscow announced on Tuesday that Pyongyang will send several thousand military sappers and army workers from the North Korean army to assist in the reconstruction of the Russian region of Kursk, which was partially occupied by Ukrainian forces between August 2024 and the spring of 2025.
"Five thousand people, grouped in a division of workers, will be in charge of the reconstruction of the Kursk region," in addition to "a thousand sappers" - engineering soldiers, declared the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, after a meeting in Pyongyang with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, as reported by Russian agencies.
Ukraine Recommends Its Citizens to Leave Iran and Israel
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommended on Tuesday that its citizens leave Iran and Israel as soon as possible, given the deteriorating situation in these countries in the context of the war between them.
"We call on all Ukrainian citizens in these countries to remain vigilant, follow the instructions of the authorities of those countries, not ignore air alerts, and seek shelter," said the department led by Andriy Sibiga.
Russia Arrests a Crimea Resident for Cooperating with Ukrainian Intelligence
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) detained a resident of the Crimean peninsula, annexed by Russia, for cooperating with Ukrainian intelligence, Russian security forces reported today.
"The FSB detained a Russian citizen suspected of committing an act of treason on the territory of the Republic of Crimea," the FSB note read. The investigation accuses a resident of the city of Kerch, born in 2003, of contacting and cooperating with Ukrainian military intelligence and acting under their instructions and supervision.
Death Toll Rises to 16 in Russia's Attack on Kiev
Russia razed a section of an apartment block in Kiev on Tuesday in the deadliest attack on the Ukrainian capital this year, as part of a massive offensive with hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that left at least 16 dead and 124 injured.
Ukrainian authorities declared a day of mourning on Wednesday for the victims of what President Volodymyr Zelensky described as one of the most horrendous attacks on the capital since the start of the war.
The Kremlin Says G7 is a "Quite Useless" Format Compared to G20
The Kremlin stated today that the G7, alongside the G20, is a "quite useless" format and agreed with the statement by U.S. President Donald Trump that Russia's expulsion from the G8 was a "mistake."
"Given the decreasing participation of G7 countries in the global economy and the trends observed in G7 countries, and of course, compared to formats like the G20, the G7 is quite pale and rather useless," said the spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dmitry Peskov, in his daily press briefing.

The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom) reported on Tuesday a significant increase in Russian interference in mobile phone signals along the southern border with Russia and in GPS signals in the Gulf of Finland.
Traficom conducted measurements at the end of May to assess the performance of mobile networks in the area between Lappeenranta and Vaalimaa, near the southeastern border with Russia, after receiving complaints about network malfunctions in that region.

The Kremlin States Plans for Peace Talks with Ukraine are Still Unclear
The Kremlin, when asked on Tuesday if Russia planned to evaluate Ukrainian ceasefire proposals and hold new talks, responded that there was no agreement on when the next direct negotiations with Kiev would take place.
