Israel, an unofficial nuclear power, began its attacks on Friday with the declared goal of halting the Iranian nuclear program. Since then, both countries have exchanged attacks.

The UN agency had indicated the day before that it had "no evidence" in that regard, and considered that only the buildings on the surface of that uranium enrichment plant had been affected, as reported by Afp.

Portugal temporarily closes its embassy in Iran due to Israeli attacks

The Portuguese government has decided to temporarily close the country's embassy in Iran, the scene of Israeli bombings, while continuing the operation to repatriate Portuguese citizens from the Middle East who wish to do so, said Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel on Tuesday, as reported by Efe.

The minister stated, in statements to the press in the Portuguese Parliament, that more than seven Portuguese citizens were evacuated from the Islamic Republic today.

A fire rekindles at Iranian TV due to Israeli attack

A fire broke out on Tuesday at the headquarters of Iranian state television in Tehran, a day after an Israeli attack caused serious damage to a building and killed three people.

"The smoke seen in the Iranian radio and television building is due to a fire rekindled by the wind," the television channel stated. An AFP journalist nearby saw a column of white smoke.

Israel boasts broad international support

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar boasted on Tuesday that their offensive against Iran has broad international support. "On the diplomatic front, all actions by the Iranian side have been blocked," Saar said at the opening of a meeting of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament).

The Foreign Minister emphasized that both at the emergency session of the UN Security Council held last week and at the Board of Governors of the IAEA, the nuclear agency also of the UN, "positive statements" were heard about their offensive against Iran.

"There is a great understanding of the actions we have taken and also that the existential threat to Israel has implications for the security of the entire region, the security of Europe, and the world order in general," he said.

He added that despite "dissenting voices internationally due to the usual concerns that the conflict may escalate," he insisted that "overall, the approach is positive."

Trump warns Iran that if it attacks US targets, it will respond with all its might

US President Donald Trump warned on Tuesday that if Iran attacks American targets, the response will be strong. "We would respond with all our might, without hesitation," the president told the media upon returning to Washington from the G7 summit in Canada, before adding: "I think (the Iranians) already know they should not touch our troops," as reported by Efe.

Trump, who left the G7 early, denied that he had left the meeting to promote a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, as suggested by French President Emmanuel Macron. "I am not seeking a ceasefire, we are looking for something better," Trump emphasized, reiterating: "I never said I was seeking a ceasefire. Emmanuel said that... good guy, but he is not always right."

In this regard, he made several seemingly contradictory statements. On the one hand, he stated that what he was looking for was a "real end, not a ceasefire" and that he was considering sending Vice President Mike Pence and special envoy Steve Witkoff to meet with Iranian representatives. However, he pointed out that he was not "in the mood to negotiate" with Iran.

Israeli Defense Minister threatens Ayatollah Khamenei by reminding him of Saddam Hussein's fate

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz recommended on Tuesday that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei cease his attacks on Israeli territory with a direct threat: "He would do well to remember the fate of the dictator in the neighboring country," referring to Saddam Hussein, executed in Iraq in 2006.

"I warn the Iranian dictator against continuing to commit war crimes and firing missiles at Israeli citizens. He should remember what happened to the dictator in the neighboring country of Iran who took this same path against the State of Israel," Katz said in an assessment of the situation with Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and other Israeli authorities.

The Defense Minister stated that Israel will continue to attack Tehran, citing the bombing on Monday against the Iranian public television facilities, which claimed the lives of three people. The minister then addressed the Iranian population: "Do not put yourselves in danger and do not be hostages in the hands of a dictator who uses you for his survival."

On Monday, when asked at a digital press conference about the possibility of Israel killing Khamenei, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded: "We will do whatever is necessary."

Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was hanged on December 30, 2006, after being captured in 2003 by US troops in the hideout where he was hiding during the US invasion of the country.

Iran says it used "a new missile" that Israeli defenses "were unable to detect"

A spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Defense stated that in the attacks on Tuesday against Tel Aviv, they used "a new missile" that Israeli defenses "were unable to detect before impact."

At the same time, the commander of the Iranian Ground Forces, Kioumars Heidari, warned that they will intensify attacks in the coming hours against "strategic positions" in Israel with "new weapons."

"Massive attacks have already begun with new and advanced unmanned aerial vehicles with weapons, and they will intensify in the coming hours," the military stated on state television.

Japan advises its citizens to evacuate Iran

The Japanese government advised its citizens on Tuesday to evacuate Iran due to the escalating war conflict with Israel, and after deciding to raise the maximum alert level for this country, which also includes the recommendation not to travel there.

Last week, Japanese authorities had already issued an evacuation warning for some border areas, but this new update means that the warning now extends to the entire country. Japan had also advised its citizens not to travel to both Israel and Iran after the initial Israeli bombings.

Currently, there are approximately 300 Japanese citizens in Iran, whom the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges to evacuate the country as soon as possible and to take all necessary security measures in case they need to stay.
