The Ukrainian Air Force ensures that Ukraine states that Russia has launched 324 drones and seven missiles overnight, primarily targeting a key airbase in Starokostyantyniv in the west of the country. The attack resulted in at least eight injuries in Kiev, including an eight-year-old child, due to damage to a multi-story apartment building in the Darnytskyi district on the left bank of the Dnieper River.

The Russian airline Aeroflot has canceled over 40 flights due to what the company described as a failure in its information systems, causing chaos at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport.

The canceled flights were bound for various destinations across Russia, as well as to the Belarusian capital, Minsk, and the Armenian capital, Yerevan.

The Russian airline Aeroflot canceled dozens of flights on Monday due to what it described as an information systems failure. The national airline did not provide further details on the cause of the issue or how long it would take to resolve, as reported by Reuters.

Since Russia initiated the war in Ukraine in February 2022, travelers in Russia have become accustomed to flight disruptions. However, these delays are usually due to temporary airport closures following drone attacks.

Aeroflot stated that "specialists are currently working to minimize the impact on flight schedules and restore normal service operations." On Telegram, it listed over 40 canceled flights to various destinations in Russia, as well as to Minsk and Yerevan.

Aeroflot urged passengers whose flights from Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport had been canceled to collect their checked baggage and leave.

The media outlet Baza reported scenes of chaos at the airport, with traffic jams forming as passengers queued just to exit.

Despite the sanctions imposed on Russia for its war in Ukraine, which have severely limited travel and routes, Aeroflot remains among the top 20 airlines in the world by passenger numbers. In 2024, the Aeroflot Group's passenger traffic reached 55.3 million passengers, according to a statement on the airline's website.

The airline stated that "specialists are currently working to minimize the impact on flight schedules and restore normal service operations," but did not disclose details about the extent of the failure or the possible cause.

Despite the sanctions imposed on Russia for its war in Ukraine, which severely limited travel and routes, Aeroflot remains among the top 20 airlines in the world by passenger numbers. In 2024, the Aeroflot Group's passenger traffic reached 55.3 million passengers, according to a statement on the airline's website.

The city of Kropyvnytskyi in central Ukraine was targeted in an attack, as reported by regional governor Andriy Raikovych, who added that emergency services were on-site and information on possible damages would be provided later on Monday.
