The Eris rocket, launched by Gilmour Space Technologies, was the first orbital launch vehicle designed and manufactured in Australia to take off from the country and was designed to carry small satellites into orbit.

The company described the launch as a "success" in a statement posted on Facebook. CEO Adam Gilmour expressed satisfaction with the rocket's liftoff. "Of course, I would have liked more flight time, but I am happy with this," he wrote on LinkedIn.
