The President of the USA, Donald Trump, handed Vladimir Putin a special object last Friday during their summit in Alaska: a letter written by his wife Melania Trump in which she asks the Russian president to make peace on behalf of the children.

Putin immediately read the "peace letter" after Trump handed it to him, while both delegations watched, according to Fox News. Trump made the content of the letter public this Sunday:

All children share the same peaceful dreams in their hearts, whether they are born by chance in the rural countryside of a country or in the magnificent center of a city. They dream of love, possibilities, and security against danger.

As parents, it is our duty to nurture hope for the next generation. As leaders, the responsibility of supporting our children goes beyond the comfort of a few.

Undoubtedly, we must strive to build a world full of dignity for all, so that every soul can awaken to peace and so that the future is perfectly protected.

A simple yet profound concept, Mr. Putin, as I am sure you will agree, is that the descendants of each generation start their lives with a purity, an innocence that transcends geography, government, and ideology.

However, in today's world, some children are forced to carry with them a silent laughter, oblivious to the darkness that surrounds them, a silent challenge against the forces that could snatch away their future. Mr. Putin, you alone can restore their melodious laughter.

By protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than just serve Russia: you will serve humanity itself. Such a bold idea transcends all human divisions, and you, Mr. Putin, are in a position to put this vision into practice with a simple stroke of the pen today.
