Hostilities continue despite Russia and Ukraine exchanging 146 prisoners of war from each side this Sunday. Russian defenses have shot down two Ukrainian drones near Moscow and another 19 in other regions.

Large-scale prisoner exchanges have been the only tangible result of three rounds of talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations held in Istanbul between May and July last year and are one of the few areas of cooperation between both countries since the start of Russia's offensive in 2022.

On the battlefield, while the Russian army continues to advance on the front, the Ukrainian commander-in-chief, Oleksandr Syrsky, stated on Sunday that his soldiers had regained three villages in the eastern region of Donetsk.
