Over three and a half years since the war in Ukraine began, Donald Trump has stated his readiness to impose economic sanctions on Russia if Vladimir Putin does not agree to a ceasefire. "It won't be a world war, but an economic war, and an economic war will be detrimental. It will be detrimental to Russia, and I don't want that," he declared during a meeting with his cabinet members at the White House.
Trump's statements came after the press inquired about a deadline for the Russian leader to agree to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky before imposing the threatened sanctions. "What I have in mind is very serious," Trump emphasized, also noting that the Ukrainian president, with whom he currently gets along, "is not innocent," and he sees it as a positive that Zelensky has a "very good relationship" with Putin.
On the battlefield, the Ukrainian Air Force has reported intercepting 74 out of 95 Russian 'Shahed' or kamikaze drones, as well as replica drones. However, 21 impacts were recorded in nine different locations. In Kherson, an 81-year-old woman died due to a Russian artillery attack, and another person was injured, while in Zaporizhia, two people were injured.
