The Canadian actor Graham Greene, known for his role in the acclaimed movie Dances with Wolves, has passed away at 73 years old. His representative, Gerry Jordan, confirmed the news on Tuesday, mourning the loss of the "award-winning and legendary" actor. A member of the Oneida Nation, Greene received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Kicking Bird in the 1990 epic western, starring Kevin Costner.

Throughout his extensive career, Greene established himself as a respected figure in film and television, appearing in productions such as Thunderheart (1992), The Green Mile (1999), and Wind River (2017). Before his success on the big screen, the actor, who was honored with the Order of Canada in 2016, worked in various trades and began his acting career in the United Kingdom, a medium that, according to him, provided the essential discipline to build his characters.

Graham Greene was a Canadian actor of First Nations descent, a member of the Oneida Nation, whose acting career followed diverse occupations such as draftsman, civil technologist, and steelworker. After venturing into theater in the UK during the 1970s, his breakthrough came in 1990 with his acclaimed role as Kicking Bird in the epic western Dances with Wolves, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
