The President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the entrepreneur Elon Musk publicly reunited this Sunday at the funeral of Charlie Kirk, an ultraconservative activist murdered on September 10, almost three months after their public confrontation.
During the broadcast of the event, held at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona in front of over 70,000 Kirk supporters, cameras captured the moment when the Tesla owner and the president set aside their differences to converse and later shake hands.
Musk was a key ally of Trump during the election campaign and, after the election, was appointed head of the controversial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), created with the aim of reducing public spending.
However, he resigned from the position following a series of disagreements with the president's fiscal plan.
Tensions between the two escalated in June with aggressive exchanges on social media.
At one point, Musk posted a message claiming that federal authorities had additional information about Trump in Jeffrey Epstein's files and suggested he should be brought to trial, although he later deleted the post.
Trump closed the tribute to Kirk, who died after being shot while giving a talk at Utah Valley University.
The event was also attended by prominent Republican leaders who delivered speeches praising the activist, including Kirk's close friend and Vice President, JD Vance; Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
