Paloma Nicole Arellano, a 14-year-old girl, has died in Durango (Mexico) due to complications following a cosmetic surgery operation, as reported by her father, Carlos Arellano, on social media.
"On September 20, after days of suffering, my daughter passed away. Falsely, 'illness' was recorded as the cause of death on her death certificate, trying to cover up the truth," the father said on social media, as reported by El Universal.
The man claims that the girl underwent a breast cosmetic intervention on September 12 without his consent, but with the mother's complicity. He has now filed a complaint against the doctor who performed the operation with the Durango prosecutor's office, as reported by the mentioned media outlet.
"I demand that all those responsible be investigated: the doctor, the mother, the hospital, its administrators, and those involved in this cover-up," the father demands.
El Universal reports that Paloma died on September 20 at the Santa María clinic and that the parents initially signed the death certificate agreeing to the causes being listed as "illness," "cerebral edema, and hypoxic encephalopathy."
However, the next day, the father filed a complaint upon learning that the girl had undergone cosmetic surgery. The prosecutor explained to the media outlet that we will have to wait for the autopsy to determine the exact causes of death and whether the doctor or the mother will be prosecuted.
