Trump's monumental anger: accuses the UN of providing him with escalators on which Melania almost fell

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, took advantage of his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday to question the usefulness of the international organization, accusing it of not collaborating in his goal of ending armed conflicts worldwide

"If that's the case, what is the point of the United Nations?" posed the Republican president in his first appearance at the UN since returning to the White House in January.

True to his critical style towards multilateral organizations, Trump began his speech with ironies directed at the institution: he mocked the malfunctioning teleprompter of the Assembly and sarcastically recounted how he had been trapped on a escalator in the building just minutes before.

Before the representatives of the member states, the U.S. president claimed to have achieved the end of "seven wars" in his first months in office, referring to the truces reached between Cambodia and Thailand; Kosovo and Serbia; Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda; Pakistan and India; Israel and Iran; Egypt and Ethiopia; and Armenia and Azerbaijan.
