Dozens of delegates representing as many countries have left the plenary of the UN General Assembly when Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, began his speech.
The Hebrew leader started his speech by saying that Israel has to "finish its job as soon as possible" and has to put an end to Hamas, recalling the massacre of October 7, 2023. Netanyahu has stated that he will continue, that he will not "rest" until "we bring all the hostages home."
Netanyahu addressed Hamas directly from New York: "Lay down your arms, release the hostages now. If you do, you will live; if not, Israel will find you." "The last elements, the last remnants of Hamas are entrenched in the City of Gaza. And they swear to repeat the atrocities of October 7 over and over again," he said to justify his offensive.
The Israeli Prime Minister said that in the event that the hostages are released, "the war could end now." Referring to Israel's current international isolation, Netanyahu stated that "many of the leaders who publicly criticize us, congratulate and encourage me in private."
